Stellar Affinity Controls Guide

Stellar Affinity on EROLABS is sold as an idle bullet-hell RPG. That sentence hides two control stacks. One stack is thumbs on a stage: move, burst, and step out of boss AOE. The other stack is menus while the ship works: bonds, conversion, shops, and offline park. This page is the mid-August 2026 map of both, written so you stop dying to patterns you could have walked around — and stop treating Auto as a personality.

A Japanese CBT capture of 星欲コネクト (the JP listing name for Stellar Affinity) described the loop as closer to casual idle-plus-boxes than a pure Vampire Survivors clone, with one important action note: boss area attacks can be dodged manually. Launch clients on 29 July 2026 kept that mix. Exact on-screen button labels move with language packs (EN / 성간의 유대 / 星慾姬絆). Learn the job, then find the glyph.

Two tempos, two control philosophies

TempoWhat you steerWhen to take the wheel
Manual dockPosition, i-frames / dash if present, burst windows, artifact procsStory walls, hard stages, “clear with X” missions
Idle / offlineAlmost nothing — you parked a recipeOvernight, work blocks, offline farming
Auto-battleYou started the node, then let the client flyTrash you already out-gear

CBT and partner copy both warn that this is not a pure AFK shooter. Captains who only idle stall on mission checkboxes. Captains who only manual burn out before soft-caps. Fold the mix into combat & idle and daily routine.

Manual dock — the habits that actually matter

We do not invent a fake key table for a client that localizes labels. Instead, lock these habits:

  1. Read the telegraph. If a boss paints the floor, step first, shoot second. The JP CBT note exists because people stood in fire while Auto “played.”
  2. Burst on gaps, not on panic. Divine artifacts swing fights (artifacts & energy). Waste them on the first swirl and the check kills you later.
  3. One clean attempt, then diagnose. Screenshot the death cause. Open hard stages before the fifth retry.
  4. Do not steer and gift at once. Bond UI and dock UI share your attention budget. Finish the node or finish the tick.
  5. Leave a revive / retry rule. Two deaths on the same pattern means the roster or modules are wrong, not your thumbs.

If a stage modifier wants a named girl or a bond action, that is a current events or carnival leftover problem — not a reason to mash harder.

Idle and Auto — what you are allowed to ignore

Idle harvest is a control too: you choose where the ship sits and which core eats the crates. Parking on a node you cannot manual-clear is how inventories fill with junk. Use offline farming for the park recipe and progression for the sink.

Auto-battle is a convenience, not a skill tree. Turn it off when:

  • The boss has a readable AOE (CBT lesson).
  • A mission wants a manual clear or a specific crew.
  • You are testing a new Flex girl such as Delia, Aubi, or Serea.

PC and emulator controls

Most captains on desktop use an Android emulator. LDPlayer’s Stellar Affinity page (package com.himefun.stellaraffinity.erolabs, listing updated 30 July 2026) explicitly sells keyboard and mouse for movement, skill selection, and combat, plus macros / operation recorder for repetitive upgrades — not as a replacement for bind discipline.

Practical PC rules:

  • Map movement to WASD or a stick after you can clear the same node on touch. Do not invent a “pro layout” during tutorial.
  • Keep skill / artifact keys on easy fingers; the dodge step should never share a panic key with a burst you cannot afford to waste.
  • Macros that tap daily menus are fine. Macros that hold a dock you have not beaten manually will farm failures.
  • Multi-instance reroll tools belong on reroll and account & bind — bind before you treat an emulator farm as the real account.
  • Update loops and JP-store workarounds live on download & PC. A beautiful keybind cannot save a stale APK.

Mid-August (16 Aug 2026) control checklist

Festival UI is gone. The week is walls, idle parks, and leftover mail. A useful session:

  1. Claim mail (launch rewards leftovers still happen).
  2. One manual wall with dodge-first rules.
  3. Convert energy if the clear proved a module (divine artifacts).
  4. Park idle on a node you already own.
  5. Close. Do not “warm up” with ten Auto losses.

Hands win individual docks. Menus win the month. If your thumbs are perfect and your F2P plan is empty, you still lost.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can I play Stellar Affinity fully AFK?

Idle harvest yes; story walls and many missions no. Boss AOE is meant to be dodged — see [combat & idle](/guides/combat-idle/).

What are the default keyboard binds?

They depend on your emulator overlay. Set them after a touch clear; LDPlayer documents mouse/keyboard support on its PC page.

Should I Auto every farm node?

Only nodes you already out-gear. New walls and telegraph bosses stay manual.

Do controls change after Light Festival?

No. The festival closed 12 Aug 2026. Your thumbs and park recipe did not.

Where do I fix a client that will not update?

[Download & PC](/guides/download-pc/) and [account & bind](/guides/account-erolabs/) before you blame the dodge.
